An invitation to rethink public space<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For over 35 years<\/strong>, urban furniture brand Ar\u00e9a has supported eco-friendly<\/strong>, human-first public spaces<\/strong>. Best known for manufacturing benches<\/strong>, bollards<\/strong>, planters<\/strong>, and bike racks<\/strong>, the French design<\/strong> and manufacturing<\/strong> company wanted an elegant, state-of-the-art upgrade to its website. While its competitors\u2019 websites focus on product specs and hard sells, Ar\u00e9a wanted a tool that would not only support client conversations but also show the company\u2019s dedication to refined public experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ar\u00e9a partnered with WS Interactive to design Memento, an interactive digital experience for its website.<\/strong> The goal was to go beyond creating a website<\/a> and displaying products, but rather to explore how urban furniture shapes social interaction and the experience of public space.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The challenge: Converting a catalog into a living narrative<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Memento needed to translate complex themes on everything from urban planning and economics to a varied audience of designers, the public, city planners, and elected officials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
